Jeff Anderson, O.D.
Dr. Jeff Anderson was born in Boone and lived in several Iowa communities before moving to Hull, Iowa were he graduated from Boyden-Hull High School in 1979. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Buena Vista College in 1983 and his Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Houston in I987. Prior to moving to Boone in 1989 to join the practice of Dr. Charles Bailey, Dr. Anderson practiced for two years in Atlantic and Corning, Iowa. Upon Dr. Bailey's retirement from the practice, Dr. Anderson established the Boone Vision Center and moved the practice to its present location at 621 Story Street in Boone in 2000.
Dr. Anderson is a member of American Optometric Association, Iowa Optometric Association (IOA) , and is a Fellow in the American Academy of Optometry. He was recognized as the IOA's "Young O.D. of the Year" in 1995 and in 2008 was honored by the members of the IOA as Iowa's "O.D. of the Year". |
Dr. Anderson served as president of the IOA in 2000-2001 and continues to serve the IOA as co-chair of its Government Relations Center.
Dr. Anderson is a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Boone Rotary Club. He served as the president of the Boone Rotary club in 1994-95 and has been the editor of the club's newsletter, The Buzzer, for over 25 years (publishing over 1300 editions). He was selected in 2011 by Rotary District 6000 to lead a month long Group Study Exchange (GSE) team to Rotary District 9910 which is located on the north island of New Zealand and in 2017 he was recognized with the District 6000 Paul Hellwege Guardian of Integrity Award. He was a graduate of the inaugural Boone Area Leadership Program and in 1996-1997 participated in the Association of Business and Industry's Leadership Iowa program. Dr. Anderson is a board member for the Boone Educational Endowment Foundation, a past president of Boone's Future (Boone's economic development organization) and the Boone County Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) Advisory Board. He was elected to the Boone Community Schools Board of Education in 1992 and continued to serve on the board until 2015 and he served as president of the Iowa Association of School Boards from 2014-2016. He is an avid reader and runner and has completed 13 marathons (including the Pikes Peak Marathon). Dr. Anderson and his wife, Susan, have two daughters Sarah and Hannah.

Casey Roelfs, O.D.
Dr. Casey Roelfs was born in Mankato Minnesota. He grew up in the suburbs of Chicago until 1980 when he and his family moved to Waverly, Iowa. He graduated from Waverly-Shell Rock high school in 1990. He then attended Wartburg College before transferring to Iowa State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in biology.
Dr. Roelfs went on to earn his Doctorate of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 2000. During this time Dr. Roelfs was fortunate to study at the Bascolm Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida which is widely regarded as the best eye hospital in the nation. Immediately upon graduation in 2000 Dr. Roelfs joined Dr. Jeff Anderson and the Boone Vision Center. Dr. Roelfs is a member of the American Optometric Association (AOA) as well as the Iowa Optometric Association (IOA). |
Dr. Roelfs was married to his wife Stephanie in 2002 at the Sacred Heart Church in Boone where they are current members. They welcomed their first son Caleb in the spring of 2003. Their second son Maxwell arrived in the fall of 2006. Finally in the spring of 2011 their daughter Alexandra was born. Dr. Roelfs favorite things include traveling with his wife and playing with his children. He enjoys attending numerous baseball and soccer games. Dr. Roelfs is also an avid outdoorsman and can likely be found chasing turkeys in the spring or bowhunting deer in the fall.
